Computers Unlimited (CU), a leading European distributor of Digital Home technology and everything Apple, today announced that it has appointed Glenn McClelland as Group Commercial Director, Digital Home division, effective immediately.
After a well-earned break, the former Armour Home Managing Director has joined the Group Board at CU, the privately owned and rapidly growing company based in north London.
Glenn commented, "The chance to re-join the industry and work for an inspirational founder and CEO (James Sanson), as part of a very professional Board of Directors, was too good to turn down."
"I'm very excited to be joining the biggest distributor in Europe for Apple, and probably the biggest supplier of multi-room music products outside of the USA. CU has 100 brand partners, employs over 200 people with an annual turnover of £125m. They also have very successful businesses in both France and Spain, with an export division which today supplies 22 countries across Europe. The aim is to rapidly grow a strong, resilient and effective business across Europe - to match CU's current position in the UK."
"We are delighted to have Glenn on board," said James Sanson. "He has a wealth of industry experience, knowledge and outstanding commercial flair. This will catapult us into our next phase of development. Having started the business 26 years ago, it's rewarding to know that we can attract the top talent available. "
McClelland joins another recent recruit David Anderson, who, as General Manager of the Digital Home Division, joined Computers Unlimited in May 2011 after serving four years as UK General manager of Onkyo Europe Electronics GmbH.
