Wireless speaker specialist, BRAVEN has launched the BRV-1 - an ultra-rugged, water-resistant speaker that can both play your music and charge your smartphone, anywhere in the world.

With IPX5-certified water resistance and an ultra-lightweight, compact design, the palm-sized speaker is perfect for any adventure, from the beach to the ski slopes to the bike trail. And back home, its splash-proof spec means the BRV-1 is perfect for the kitchen, bathroom and even unpredictable British barbecue weather!

With 12 hours of playtime from the 1400mAh battery, the 6W speaker wirelessly streams music from smartphones, tablets and computers via Bluetooth for superb stereo sound. Users can also connect directly to devices via 3.5 mm jack.

In addition, the BRV-1 boasts the Braven difference: a built-in power-bank that can charge up your phone on your travels, plus a noise-cancelling microphone, allowing you to make and take calls. The power-bank will also boost the batteries of other USB-charged devices you might take on your off-grid adventures - from compact cameras to fitness gadgets such as Nike's Fuelband.

"Our team loves active, outdoor adventures, so we designed the BRV-1 to be the perfect all weather companion for any activity," explains BRAVEN CEO, Warren Osborn. "We upped the cool factor with the look and functionality of this speaker without sacrificing our high-quality sound or signature charging capability."

To achieve its IPX5 certification - a rating that officially means "water projected by a nozzle (6.3 mm) against enclosure from any direction shall have no harmful effects" - the Braven BRV-1 survived 12.5 litres of water per minute being hosed on it at 30kPA pressure from a distance of 3m. In real life, that means the BRV-1 is happy being out in the rain or snow, being sprayed by water on beach or in bathroom, or getting muddy out biking. All while it's playing music.
